Layered hills in morning mist

The idea

Time travel
through compassion

We cannot return to the past and change what happened.

But through memory, attention and compassion, perhaps we can return to the person it happened to.

And somewhere farther down the line, perhaps the person we are becoming can do the same for us.

Three directions

Memory

Going back, not to change what happened, but to see who it happened to.

Attention

Being present enough today to be there when it matters.

Compassion

Holding every earlier version of ourselves with the same care we would offer anyone else.

Forward, too

“What would you leave behind today if you knew the person who eventually found it was you?”
